Park Radio complete an epic cycling challenge for Big C!

Park Radio complete an epic cycling challenge for Big C!

In November 2020 staff and volunteers from Park Radio station took on a 10-mile cycling challenge around the South Norfolk town of Diss, the hometown of the station.

Managing Director and Station Manager at Park Radio, Chris Moyse, said:

Park Radio prides itself, as part of its community ethos, to support local charities – and Big C was a perfect fit. We came up with the idea to stage a sponsored 10-mile cycle ride which 8 Park Radio volunteers participated – which was such great fun! The resulting proceeds were divided equally between the BIG C and the Scoliosis Association UK.

Due to the country entering a further lockdown period after the challenge, there wasn’t an opportunity to hold a cheque presentation in person at the time. So on Wednesday 21st April 2021, Tom Holmes, Events & Engagement Manager at Big C paid a visit to Park Radio to thank them for their amazing fundraising efforts.

Tom said, “We’re extremely grateful to everyone that took part in the challenge and to those who donated. Several of the group who took part are not what you would class as regular cyclists, so it’s even more special to see them taking on this challenge and raising money for great causes”.

The event raised around £1,240 which was split equally between Big C and Scoliosis Association UK.
