Welcome to Big C – a message from our CEO …

For 40 years, Big C has been supporting those affected by cancer.

From the first small, but important fundraising project providing chemotherapy equipment at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital in 1980, the charity has grown into an impressive organisation providing practical and emotional support in our Big C Centres, funding medical equipment, funding internationally significant research projects based at the Norwich Research Park and educating local people about cancer.

Today, Big C has four established Cancer Support Centres; in the grounds of the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, in King’s Lynn, Great Yarmouth and within the Louise Hamilton Centre in Gorleston.

The Centres provide a bedrock of support, information, complementary therapies and a listening ear to many thousands of people affected by cancer, often when they are attending hospital appointments, or during treatment.

I wouldn't really believe it was possible, but it has, and is, changing lives. Sometimes I think we all have a purpose in this world, and I wonder whether I was ill to actually create Big C as it is today.
