Volunteer for us
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. With opportunities across a whole range of areas and in a variety of locations, there’s something for everyone.
Whether you can offer a day a week or a few hours a month, we’d love to hear from you.
Join team Big C!
Every year, generous people donate a huge amount of their free time to volunteer for us and help support the work of Big C. We could not continue to support people affected by cancer in Norfolk and surrounding counties without these dedicated individuals.
Try a taster session
We’re inviting anyone interested in volunteering in one of our 11 shops to come along for a taster session to see what’s involved. Why not bring a friend along? It could be fun to volunteer together!
Just pop along to your local shop for more information or contact us.

Your questions answered
- Can anyone volunteer?

Yes! Anyone can volunteer with Big C to help support the vital work of the charity. Some roles require volunteers to be over 18. Children and young people between 14 – 18 years will require parental consent to volunteer and if you are of school age we will need to obtain a work permit.
We also encourage applications for Duke of Edinburgh and work experience placements.
If your company allows you time to volunteer, there are plenty of opportunities for corporate volunteering too.

Our volunteers
Meet our volunteer Nataliya
“The people I meet here are so different, but everyone is amazing. We have very brave service users who deal with physical and emotional issues with kindness, openness, and mindfulness.
The team at Big C and the volunteers make a really warm and trustful atmosphere. It’s inspiring.
I’m Russian and have learnt to speak English and at the Big C I can communicate with native speakers, who accept me without any words.”
Meet our volunteer Chris
“The reason I volunteer at Big C’s King’s Lynn Centre is because I like to help and meet people.
I enjoy sitting and talking to service users and like to cheer people up who are having a difficult time.
I like being part of the Big C team, everyone’s friendly, helpful, and supportive.”
