LILAC – Ladies in League Against Cancer

LILAC – Ladies in League Against Cancer was founded by Theresa Cossey MBE and Gaye Youngman in 2005 as a voluntary fundraising group focused on fun and friendship. LILAC raise funds to support the work of Big C improving the lives of local people affected by cancer in Norfolk and surrounding counties.

Since 2005 LILAC has gone from strength to strength and now has a loyal membership of ladies enjoying a wide variety of events whilst raising thousands of pounds each year for cancer support, education and research in our local area.

In recent years LILAC has:

  • Supported the Big C Cancer Support Centres across the county, including the new Norwich City Cancer Support Centre in Dereham Road, Norwich
  • Raised funds for projection equipment for the NNUH Oncology dept and a camera for UEA School of Biological Sciences
  • Funded an annual student bursary, based at Norwich Research Park
  • Supported the Boudicca Appeal at NNUH
