Tackle Cancer

Tackle Cancer is a weekly walking football and support group for people affected by cancer. The sessions take place every Wednesday at the Football Development Centre, Bowthorpe Park, NR5 9ED.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is suitable for anyone aged 18 years and over who has been affected by cancer in Norfolk and surrounding counties.

The group offers an opportunity to get fit and play gentle football in a friendly and inclusive setting.

What happens at a session?

Sessions are held every Wednesday from 11am – 1pm at the Football Development Centre.

Relaxed football sessions

Led by FA qualified coaches and a Level 4 Cancer Rehabilitation Practitioner.

Post-football social group

A chance to meet new people and make friends with people going through similar experiences.

1:1 and group support

Our Support and Information Officers and specialist nurses will be on hand to chat at any stage.

It was time for Big C to get the sequins out and the glitter ball ready on Saturday evening as a glamorous evening of ballroom and latin dancing was held at Hellesdon Community Centre on Saturday 2 March, raising funds for the local cancer charity.

A charity online raffle and auction which saw the Norwich City squad come together to raise funds for Big C Cancer Charity has raised £7,794. This recent achievement has meant that the Talk Norwich City (TNC) fundraising total has reached an incredible £41,274 since the duo started supporting the charity in 2019.
