Fishing for wellbeing

We’re offering monthly fishing sessions as part of our wellbeing activities, thanks to the generous support from Angling Trust. It’s an opportunity for people affected by cancer to get outside and spend a relaxing afternoon with a trained instructor from UK Fishing School at Shallowbrook Lakes.

To find out more information or register your interest, please call 0800 092 7640 or email support@big-c.co.uk.

Who is this for?

The welcoming and inclusive fishing sessions are for people affected by cancer who live in Norfolk and surrounding counties. They offer an opportunity for people to get outside and spend time doing a physical activity.

There will be a maximum of 8 participants per session, as well as Big C staff and a UK Fishing School instructor.

Equipment and refreshments will be provided. No previous experience is needed.

The fishing expedition was great fun. It was congenial and inclusive. The fishing lakes seem a very safe and friendly place and Duncan was helpful, informative, and totally non-judgemental. Being able to observe some of the fish we had caught in the tank was a brilliant idea. Lovely afternoon.”
