Funding for undergraduates

Grants are available to provide funding (up to 8 weeks’ support at £175 per week) for undergraduate students interested in gaining research experience by carrying out a cancer related research project over the summer vacation. The purpose of the award is to encourage students to consider a career/research associated with cancer.

Big C supports research for public benefit and not for commercial or private gain.
Big C supports the AMRC position statements regarding research in universities and the use of animals in research.

LILAC Funding Opportunity

Every year, one student bursary is supported by the Big C Fundraising Group – LILAC (Ladies In League Against Cancer). Since 1995 the LILAC Ladies have been dedicated supporters of Big C and its work and they are particularly keen to see some their funds raised applied to Big C student bursaries.

The committee takes a keen interest in the chosen student, and there will be an opportunity to speak with them after the project has finished, to talk about your studentship and what you have gained from the experience.
