Bure Valley Walk

Sunday 18 August

Whether you’re up for the challenge of walking 18 miles, or you’d prefer a shorter distance of 9 miles, join us as we meander along the Bure Valley path, through beautiful Norfolk countryside.

Entry fee: £20-25 (Minimum sponsorship £100)

Time

To be confirmed

Date

Sunday 18 August

Where

Starting and finishing at Wroxham Station, Belaugh Road, Hoveton, Norwich NR12 8UU

For those taking on the 9 mile challenge, you’ll be walking from Wroxham to Aylsham, and ride the unique train back to Wroxham. If you’re tackling all 18 miles, you’ll be walking from Wroxham to Alysham and back again.

There is an entry fee of £25 for the 9 mile walk, which also covers the cost of the train ticket, and an entry fee of £20 for the 18 mile walk. We’re then asking you to commit to raising a minimum of £100 to help support local people affected by cancer. Every £1 you’re able to raise makes a difference.

“We are thrilled to be holding our Bure Valley Walk for a second year following the great response we had in 2023. It’s a lovely event for all ages to get involved in, and every step you take will be helping support local people affected by cancer.”

TOM HOLMES, EVENTS & ENGAGEMENT MANAGER
Can friends and family come to watch?

Family and friends are more than welcome to come along and help cheer you on! They could always get their own train ticket and ride the train back with you at the end.

How much does it cost?

There is an entry fee of £25 for the 9 mile route (which includes the train ticket back) and £20 for the 18 mile route. This fee only pays for us to put the event on, so we’d love it if you’re then able to fundraise to help support local people affected by cancer. We’re asking you to commit to raising a minimum of £100. Every £1 you’re able to raise makes a difference.

Is there an age restriction?

Anyone can take part in the walk, but children must be accompanied by an adult and able to manage the distance.

What happens next?

Once you’re signed up, it’s time to get training and ask your family and friends to support your challenge in what ever way they can.

Our fundraising team will be in touch to tell you more about the challenge and offer support if you need help in setting up a JustGiving page.
