Big C’s Skydive

Sunday 9 June

Are you ready to take the leap and jump for Big C?

There’s nothing quite like the challenge of jumping out of a plane on a tandem skydive, and the exhilaration you’ll feel as you free-fall through the sky!

Cost: £50 registration fee + £350 fundraising target

What happens during a skydive?

Organised by the UK Parachuting team at Beccles Airfield and following a 20 minute briefing, you will board an aircraft and soar to around 13,000 feet (approximately two miles high!).

When you and your instructor leave the plane, you will fall at about 120 mph, descending to 5,000 feet in around 40 seconds. At this point, your instructor will open the parachute and fly you safely back to earth! During the six minutes or so under the parachute, you will enjoy breath-taking and unique views of the local area and beyond.

“We can’t wait to see our amazing fundraisers take to the skies to support Big C! Join us, tick this thrilling item off your bucket list and help raise funds to support anyone affected by cancer in Norfolk and surrounding counties.”

Kat Jarvis, Fundraising & Events coordinator, Big C
How much does it cost?

There is a registration fee of £50. We then ask that you fundraise a minimum of £350 and for this fundraising event, the sky is quite literally the limit!

Your registration fee and the first £180 of your fundraising will cover the cost of the event; the additional fundraising will directly support the work of Big C. The more you fundraise, the more you’ll be helping support anyone affected by cancer in Norfolk and surrounding counties.

Is there a minimum age limit?

The minimum age is 16. There is no upper age limit.

A self-declaration medical certificate is required, however, regardless of age, you do not need to get a medical form signed by a doctor to take part in a Tandem skydive. If you have doubts about your fitness to do a tandem jump, please discuss this with your doctor.

I would prefer to jump with a female instructor – is this possible?

If you require a female instructor, please advise us at time of booking and we will speak to the team at Beccles.

What should I wear to jump?

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing, such as a tracksuit, and a pair of trainers.

I still have a few questions before I sign up. Who can I contact?

If you’re unsure as to whether this fundraising event is for you, or you have any questions at all, please email the fundraising team on fundraising@big-c.co.uk and they will be happy to help.
