Meets: Every 2nd Friday of the month from 11am-1pm, at the Big C Norwich NNUH Centre

Gynaecology Nurse Specialist Siobhan, who runs the group looks after patients undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer everyday at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

It was identified that the women and their families felt isolated and often didn’t know where to turn. Working with the team at Big C enabled this support group to be set up.

As Siobhan explains “We have created a wonderful community of support, sharing stories, laughing, crying and most importantly, being there for one another. We want to raise awareness of our group and the support that is out there if you have ovarian cancer, but also to raise awareness for others who may be in the same situation. We hope our group will continue to grow and flourish and anyone is welcome.”

“As I have five daughters, I didn’t want any of them to discover ovarian cancer too late.

I really want to raise awareness and help educate young women about the early misleading symptoms.

This journey would be very lonely without the support of this group.”

“Before coming to this group, I hadn’t met anyone else with ovarian cancer.

Everyone is so supportive and friendly. We talk about all sorts of things and have a ‘laugh’.

I always feel ‘uplifted’ after attending this group, it’s such a help.”
