Tackle Cancer

Tackle Cancer is a weekly walking football and support group for people affected by cancer. The sessions take place every Wednesday at the Football Development Centre, Bowthorpe Park, NR5 9ED.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is suitable for anyone aged 18 years and over who has been affected by cancer in Norfolk and surrounding counties.

The group offers an opportunity to get fit and play gentle football in a friendly and inclusive setting.

What happens at a session?

Sessions are held every Wednesday from 11am – 1pm at the Football Development Centre.

Relaxed football sessions

Led by FA qualified coaches and a Level 4 Cancer Rehabilitation Practitioner.

A chance to meet new people and make friends with people going through similar experiences.

1:1 and group support

Our Support and Information Officers and specialist nurses will be on hand to chat at any stage.

Get Moving

Do you know someone who is starting or going through cancer treatment and could benefit from taking part in our wellbeing support programme? Big C’s Get Moving programme is designed to increase physical activity with weekly online exercise classes and regular 1:1 support.

Seated pilates

This is a gentle exercise class for anyone affected by cancer, that will help you to sit taller, feel stronger and improve your posture.

The class takes place via Zoom and is open to all ages and abilities to help develop core strength, balance and coordination.
