Soundbaths

Discover deep musical relaxation and a sense of calm with our gentle soundbath sessions, designed to support your emotional wellbeing.

A soundbath is a soothing, immersive experience where you are “bathed” in the calming sounds of instruments such as singing bowls and chimes. You simply sit comfortably while sound waves help encourage relaxation and promote a restful state of mind.

What to expect

A welcoming, tranquil environment led by a trained member of the Big C team who will play gentle sound tones designed to promote relaxation.

The sessions are suitable for all abilities, no previous experience is needed and you will not need to bring any equipment. You’ll have the option to sit in a regular or reclined seating position, depending on what feels best for you.

Our soundbath sessions are open to anyone affected by cancer, who is over the age of 18. There is no maximum number of attendees for online sessions, and for in-person sessions we limit attendance to 8 people.

We run regular sessions throughout the year. Get in touch to find out when the next one is scheduled.
Sessions last roughly 90 minutes, with the soundbath element lasting one hour.

1:1 and group support

Our Support and Information Officers and specialist nurses will be on hand to chat at any stage.

“Soundbaths offer a gentle space to pause and relax. Many people feel calmer and more grounded after a session. Our aim is to create a peaceful environment where you can simply rest and let the sounds support you.”
