Big C cancer research funding opportunity

You are invited to join us in the fight against cancer by investing in the future of research through Big C’s new PhD research initiative. By contributing to our research fund, your organisation can make a lasting impact in the battle against cancer right here on the Norwich Research Park.

Fuelling research

Our proposition is simple yet powerful: Your support will directly fund a PhD student, empowering them to undertake innovative cancer research. These students represent the bright minds of tomorrow, poised to make significant breakthroughs in the fight against this devastating disease.

Benefits of our research partnership

Here’s why you might choose to be a part of this initiative:

  • Investing in innovation

Your business will fuel cutting-edge research that has the potential to revolutionize cancer treatment and care. Today’s students are the future leaders of scientific innovation, and your investment will enable them to pursue groundbreaking research projects.

  • Building a legacy of impact

Both within your organisation and in the broader community, you will be demonstrating a commitment to making a meaningful difference to the lives of patients and families affected by cancer, both right here in this region and globally.

  • Employee & customer engagement

This initiative will send a powerful message of corporate leadership and social responsibility. It also provides a platform to communicate to your team and customers through news updates, both internally and externally, via your website, newsletters, PR, and social media.

  • Exclusive network

Along with other corporate partners and supporters, you will be invited to exclusive events, to meet with key personnel from the research arena and hear more about research taking place on our doorstep.

  • Taxation

Companies are entitled to tax relief for qualifying charitable donations made to charities. If the donation is an allowable expense, the corporation tax due will be reduced by 19% – 26% for the tax year of the total donation.

How it works

Your contribution to the Big C research fund will propel your PhD student into their proposed research project for the benefit cancer patients.

Any additional funding for the 4-year programme will be funded by the host institution on the Norwich Research Park.

Some supporters have a preference for funding to be dedicated towards research into cancer – Big C has responded to this with the introduction of a dedicated fund opportunity which ensures that funds pledged are invested solely into cancer research activity taking place at Norwich Research Park.”
