3 day itinerary

Day 1: Meet and Transfer to Fort William

You’ll meet at Manchester Piccadilly Train Station or Glasgow Central Station/ Glasgow International Airport for your pick up, then head north on our transfer to Fort William which is located in the stunning highlands of Scotland. You’ll have an evening meal together as a group and a briefing about the exciting challenge ahead.

Day 2: Ben Nevis & Scafell Pike

After a hearty breakfast your challenge begins, first up the mighty Ben Nevis standing tall at 1,345m. You begin your trek taking the tourist path, which uses a zig zag technique to enable a steady climb up the mountain! As your group treks to the summit you will stop for short breaks enabling you to take in the picturesque views of the breath-taking Scottish highlands. Once you reach the summit and take your celebration photos you begin the descent. After you descend Ben Nevis you’ll jump straight into the awaiting vehicles and head South to the Lake District to take on your second peak – Scafell Pike (978m).

You will stop for dinner en route, then continue on to Wasdale Head; an untouched and tranquil part of the Lake District also renowned for being the birthplace of British climbing. You continue your trek in what remains of the daylight and head towards the summit.

Glowing from your success you jump straight into the buses and head to your third and final peak – Snowdon.

Day 3: Snowdon

It’s an early start today as you begin your final summit trek. You’ll take the Pyg track to ascend Snowdon – the highest mountain in Wales at 1,085m. Once you summit Snowdon your efforts will hopefully be rewarded with glorious views stretching as far as the eye can see.

You will descend following the Llanberis route, before enjoying a celebratory lunch! You then take the transfer back to Chester train station or Manchester Piccadilly for drop offs after a long, but very rewarding two days.

In order to fulfil the itinerary and complete all 3 mountains within the scope and limitations of the challenge itinerary, including contracted staff working hours, there are strict cut off times in place.

Costs

There are two ways to pay for your place on the charity trek: you can choose to fundraise or self-fund.

If you choose to fundraise, you’ll pay a registration fee of £95. Then, you’ll commit to raising a minimum of £950 to cover the cost of your place and support Big C. In total, this option involves a commitment of £1,045.

If you prefer to self-fund, you’ll still pay the £95 registration fee, but instead of fundraising, you’ll pay £475 yourself to cover the cost of the trek. This brings the total cost to £570.

People hiking

We would be so grateful if you’re able to raise funds completing this incredible challenge as you’ll be helping to support local people affected by cancer, such as Kathryn:

“I remember the initial welcome I received at Big C, it was warm, calm and welcoming. No doubt I arrived in floods of tears and needing strong coffee. They listened and supported in my time of need. So that’s where I headed during my treatment days, during the waits, during the difficult days.”
