You may wish to fundraise yourself, with family and friends or within your local group. Whatever the idea, be it large or small, we know you will have a great time raising vital funds for Big C.

Did you know we have 12 charity shops across Norfolk including a dedicated Craft Supplies Shop, Furniture Emporium, Bridal and a high-end fashion Boutique? We are always looking for high quality donations.

Volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers including in our Support Centres, shops and at our Fundraising events. Volunteering is a great way to spend some free time, meet new people, and gain experience.

Could you help feedback about your radiotherapy service at NNUH?

Could you help feedback about your radiotherapy service at NNUH?

We welcome Sarah from the UEA to talk about how you can get involved with the radiotherapy service at NNUH:

My name is Sarah Barber and I have worked as a radiographer for 18 years. I am currently studying at the University of East Anglia and as part of my qualification I am conducting a service evaluation looking at the radiotherapy service at NNUH. I am interested to hear from patients who have had or who are currently receiving radiotherapy treatment to find out what you would like from the service.

I am interested to hear about what you want from the radiotherapy service, and what is most important to you.

Invitation

I am interested to hear about what you want from the radiotherapy service, and what is most important to you.

By doing this, we will be able to see if we are providing a service which meets your needs. It will also show us any areas where we can make improvements.

We have not asked patients what they need from our service before. This is a chance for you to tell us what you want, and what is most important.

Why do I want you to take part?

I would like to invite you to take part because:

  • You are currently having radiotherapy treatment at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

Or you have had radiotherapy treatment at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital within the last 12 months.

  • You are aged 18 years or above.
  • English speaking.
  • Able to read and write.

What will I have to do?

This project is in 2 phases, this leaflet is about phase I.

I am going to be running a group session on 19th April at 13:00 – 14:30 at the Big C Information and Support Centre.

The session will take up to 90 minutes of your time, light refreshments will be provided.

The purpose of the session is to produce a top 10 list of points that you would like to see from the radiotherapy service. This will help the department to see if there are any areas of the service which we can be improved.

Find out how Big C can support you and your family if you’ve been affected by cancer.

We can help to improve your quality of life, physical health, and mental wellbeing.

Some people take to the skies, run, jump, walk, swim and cycle whilst others make tea, bake cakes or shave heads.

What will you do to make a difference?

Two men from Norfolk who found themselves with cancer and having to travel for treatment, vowed local people would have access to the best treatment and support … and in 1980 the Big C Appeal was formed.
