Big C supports CRUK RadNet Cambridge in celebrating patient involvement in radiotherapy research

Big C supports CRUK RadNet Cambridge in celebrating patient involvement in radiotherapy research

CRUK RadNet Cambridge is a network of professionals who are dedicated to improving and developing radiotherapy so that treatments are even more effective.

Big C is happy to help promote the work of Rachael Webster, Senior Therapeutic Radiographer at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and CRUK RadNet Cambridge Translational Research Radiographer. Rachael’s focus is with patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE); with her goal to improve community engagement and how we can improve the public’s perception of radiotherapy.

CRUK RadNet Cambridge is running a patient and public project group to help create an interactive display in the Addenbrooke’s radiotherapy department, with the focus on how the patient and public involvement in radiotherapy have been key in how it has developed over the years. CRUK RadNet Cambridge want to work in partnership with patients and the public to create something truly inspiring.

If you have had radiotherapy or visited the department and you would like to be involved in this project, you can contact Rachael via rnw31@cam.ac.uk

What will you do to make a difference?

Two men from Norfolk who found themselves with cancer and having to travel for treatment, vowed local people would have access to the best treatment and support … and in 1980 the Big C Appeal was formed.
