Margaret’s story

Having received the devastating diagnosis that her husband had an aggressive brain tumour in November 2022, Margaret and her husband were told there was no cure and it was inoperable but radiotherapy and chemotherapy could be offered. They found there way to a Big C Centre, this is their story…

We were so shocked and didn’t know where to turn. We found our way into the Big C Centre at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and was immediately seen by Adelle, one of the Big C Support & Information Officers. She let us tell our story and gave us immediate support offering all they could.

We take part in relaxation classes and exercise classes via Zoom. We have also been helped greatly by Les regarding a PIP (Personal Independence Payment) application.

Adele also calls to check in if she hasn’t seen us for a while.

We know the prognosis isn’t good but the only real emotional support has come from the wonderful team at Big C – I don’t know how we could have coped without them.

I would urge anyone affected by cancer to consider calling in for support and information. They are a wonderful, caring team.
