Through our Centres, online and telephone-based support, we help local cancer patients and their family and friends to improve their quality of life, physical health, and mental wellbeing.

Research

We fund vital, world-class research into cancer, right here in Norfolk. Since 1980 we’ve funded more than £12.5 million in research and equipment grants across the Norwich Research Park.

Equipment

We have been investing in cancer diagnostic and treatment equipment since Big C began in 1980. The aim is to ensure the people of Norfolk have all the best treatments closer to home.

Learn about our interventional and presentational education programmes for the general public and healthcare professionals.

Fundraise

You may wish to fundraise yourself, with family and friends or within your local group. Whatever the idea, be it large or small, we know you will have a great time raising vital funds for Big C.

Did you know we have 12 charity shops across Norfolk including a dedicated Craft Supplies Shop, Furniture Emporium, Bridal and a high-end fashion Boutique? We are always looking for high quality donations.

Volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers including in our Support Centres, shops and at our Fundraising events. Volunteering is a great way to spend some free time, meet new people, and gain experience.

More software for analysis of scan results

£27,777 in autumn 2009 for imaging software for the Radiology Department at the James Paget University Hospital.

Viewing and analysis of results from medical imaging procedures (for example CT or MRI scans) requires specialized software, which had been limited to 4 workstations within the department. These are often unavailable during preparation for multi-disciplinary team meetings that bring together all those involved in patient care.

This grant provided software for other workstations within the Radiology Department, allowing radiologists to present results more clearly and so improving the service provided to patients.
