£21,411 in spring 2011 for the development of stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
SRT delivers high precision targeted radiotherapy to tumours, with a high chance of control or cure.
There is strong evidence of its effectiveness in the treatment of brain tumours, lung cancer and brain metastases (the spread of disease to another organ).
It is hoped that as expertise in the technique improves it may be used in other tumour sites.
This is another grant that has allowed the treatment of local people within their own areas, cutting the current need to travel to Cambridgeshire.
