Larking Gowen Kicks Off Support with Special Canaries Legends Match at Fakenham

Big C is thrilled to announce its upcoming Charity Football Match, set to take place on Sunday 18 May, at Fakenham Town Football Club, thanks to the support of accountants Larking Gowen

The Big C XI team featuring ex-Norwich City Football players including Wes Hoolahan, Simeon Jackson and Simon Lappin, led by captain Adam Dury will take on Help Delete Cancer, a non-profit organisation that raises awareness around cancer, and helps raise funds where needed.

The family friendly event, which is now in its second year, is proudly sponsored by Larking Gowen Accountants, a leading firm with offices in Fakenham and across Norfolk.

It promises a day filled with fun, football, and family activities. Attendees can enjoy penalty shoot-outs, a crossbar challenge, face painting, charity stalls, a raffle, and refreshments.

The Big C team will be wearing a unique shirt for the charity football match, which has been specially designed for the occasion and the sleeves have been kindly sponsored by CIM Signs & Graphics

No place like home: Yellow Brick Mortgages raises £50,000 for Big C

We are delighted to celebrate the incredible fundraising achievements of local mortgage company Yellow Brick Mortgages, who have donated a remarkable total of over £50,000 to Big C over the last seven years!

In 2019, Yellow Brick Mortgages announced they would be supporting three local charities: Big C, Nelson’s Journey and PACT Animal Sanctuary, and they have been showing their unwavering support ever since.

This fantastic total has been raised through years of enthusiastic fundraising for Big C, including their involvement in our annual Big Cuppa events, where they’ve hosted everything from bake sales to a brilliantly fun ‘pimp your drink’ station.

Their sponsorship of our daring Firewalk really fired up the event, where staff members from Yellow Brick Mortgages even took to the coals themselves!

“We’re incredibly thankful to Yellow Brick Mortgages for their continued support of Big C and it’s fantastic to celebrate this incredible donation milestone. Their commitment over the years has helped us to continue providing support to those affected by cancer, and it’s wonderful to see the difference a local company can make when they choose to support a charity close to home,” said Karen Vincent, Chief Executive, Big C.

Yellow Brick Mortgages has also committed to donating a proportion of the commissions from new mortgages to one of their three chosen charities. This wonderful approach has not only helped raise funds for Big C but has also engaged their clients in giving back to the community.

“We are excited about all the great work Big C can do with this money, especially given the challenging fundraising times charities continue to endure”, said Stephen Perkins, Managing Director at Yellow Brick Mortgages.

Greg Marcham, Managing Director, added, “A huge thank you goes to all our clients, mortgage consultants and introducers, without whom these donations would not be possible.”

Reaching the milestone of £50,000 in donations is a fantastic testament to the hard work, passion and generosity of the entire team at Yellow Brick Mortgages.
