Our impact

Year on year we’re making progress across the organisation to offer more support to people affected by cancer across Norfolk and beyond. Read more about Big C’s impact over the past year…

7,203 support sessions have been held

From January to December 2022, 7,203 support and information sessions were held, with cancer patients, their family, friends and carers.

We’re able to support 1,000 visits per month

In total Big C centres and hubs are visited on average over 1,000 times each month.

2,581 welfare matters have been resolved

In 2022, Big C’s welfare advice service, which is run in conjunction with the Diss, Thetford and District branch of Citizen’s Advice, helped 912 service users with 2,581 issues which gained an income of £2,391,510 on their behalf.

Our retail operations brought in £1.2million

£1.2million was raised through our 11 shops during 2022. So every time you shop with Big C, or drop a bag of unwanted clothes off to us, you’re helping make a huge difference.

£811k has been invested in research projects

Big C is currently supporting ten cancer research projects across Norwich Research Park with a total value of £811.3k.

29,725 hours of volunteering

In 2022, 29,725 hours of volunteering were undertaken across the organisation, which meant we could keep our Support Centres, online hub and retail shops running efficiently.

Strictly glitter ball event raises over £5,800 for Big C

It was time for Big C to get the sequins out and the glitter ball ready on Saturday evening as a glamorous evening of ballroom and latin dancing was held at Hellesdon Community Centre on Saturday 2 March, raising funds for the local cancer charity.

Talk Norwich City fundraising efforts surpass £40k

A charity online raffle and auction which saw the Norwich City squad come together to raise funds for Big C Cancer Charity has raised £7,794. This recent achievement has meant that the Talk Norwich City (TNC) fundraising total has reached an incredible £41,274 since the duo started supporting the charity in 2019.
