Cancer Awareness Champions

Big C runs a programme, in line with the NHS Be Clear on Cancer campaign, called Cancer Awareness Champions. The aim of the programme is to raise awareness among the general public of early cancer symptoms to aid early diagnosis.

Cancer Awareness Champions are teams of specially trained volunteers, who go out into the community, into workplaces, to support groups and other groups, with cancer information literature telling people of early symptoms to look out for.

Better awareness of cancer symptoms helps improve the chance of a patients early diagnosis, which then has an improved impact on the individuals cancer treatment.
