Human tissue storage for vital future research
Spring 2011
£51,456 over two years to 'The Partners in Cancer Research Human Tissue Bank', a grant that will help to protect the continued functioning of this important project.
Based at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital it is concerned with the collection and storage of diseased human tissues (with informed patient consent) to allow research into how malignant diseases arise. Any research has the potential for improved diagnosis and treatment for current and future patients.
Research will be undertaken locally with partners at the University of East Anglia and the Institute of Food Research.
The Human Tissue Bank has already led to important research findings; more may just be around the corner.
