The Big C (Registered Charity No 281730 - Guarantee Limited Company No 1521441) is a local proudly independent cancer charity serving Norfolk & Waveney.
It was formed in 1980 by David Moar and Clive Bamford, two young Norwich men who were obliged to travel to London for their cancer treatment. They were determined that people in Norfolk should have local access to the best treatment and care.
Today the dedication of David and Clive is shared by all those connected with the Big C. In the twenty nine years since we were established, over £15 million has been raised, thanks to the magnificent support of our surrounding community. These funds have been expended on cancer equipment, support, care and world-class research only in Norfolk & Waveney. Advances have been significant and continuous.
