Other ways to Donate
Gift Aid
By making a simple declaration UK tax payers can add 28p to every pound they donate at no extra cost to themselves. If you donate online you can allow us to claim this money simply by ticking the Gift Aid box. Alternatively, print a Gift Aid form which can be sent with your cheque or postal order. If you are a higher rate tax payer, please contact us and we’ll explain how to ensure we receive the most from your donation.
Charitable Trusts and Major Giving
The support we receive from charitable trusts and major giving is vital to allow Big C to continue providing equipment, research, support and care for the families in Norfolk & Suffolk. For example charitable trusts and major donors made a highly significant contribution to our Big C Family Cancer Information and Support Centre which opened in May 2005, and have helped us with many research projects. We are sincerely grateful for the support we receive. Major donations can help fund doctors and equipment at local hospitals across the region, fund major capital projects and fund significant groundbreaking research at the University of East Anglia, particularly important now that we have also helped to fund the Biomedical Research Centre.
The Big C has a dedicated team of staff who work closely with major givers. We are always more than happy to discuss donations, funding options and donors’ wishes. Payroll Giving
This is a direct and convenient way to fund the work of Big C. Your donations are deducted from your gross pay, and is a tax-effective way of either donating regularly (monthly, or weekly), or with a one-off payment. Ask your employer if they run a payroll giving scheme, and if not, suggest that they do. It is easy and inexpensive to set up, and has benefits for both employer and employee. Our Shops
You can also help by donating items to or buying items from our two shops in Norwich or our new shop in Beccles. Not only do we have a large range of high quality second hand goods, we also have a Bridal Floor at our Timberhill shop but in the run up to Christmas we sell Christmas cards to suit every taste.
