What happened
I am a 49 year Mother and Grandmother. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. I had a lot of treatment, including a double mastectomy, but unfortunately, the cancer has spread to my liver.
The support I have received throughout my cancer journey has been fantastic, from the time I was first diagnosed. Family and friends are so important and have been there for me every step of the way. But my husband, Jonathan, has been my main rock. The medical staff at the Norwich and Norfolk Hospital and the staff at the
Big C Centre have helped us all the way and I would urge anyone affected by cancer to drop in to the Centre. You'll receive such a friendly welcome and a whole host of practical and emotional support. My journey has not ended but I know I can rely on Big C to help me and my family through it.
I'm urging everyone I can to get involved with an event called
Link Up Your C Cup. I'm passionate about it and last year helped Big C raise over £1000. This year it's being held at the Castle in Norwich. Big C are asking people to bring along their bras (or their wife's, girlfriends or a brand new one!) filled with cash. We're going to link them up around Norwich Castle - we're hoping the stretch the whole way round. There's also a fancy bra competition and the winner gets a bottle of wine! Will you join me with supporting those affected by breast cancer?
