The Big Climb - Three Peaks Challenge

We're so excited about this opportunity, and by conquering the Big Climb with us you'll make sure we can be there to support more people affected by cancer in Norfolk & Waveney. Sign up and join Team Big C this June for our epic Three Peaks Challenge.

An event for people of mixed ability, you may exercise and train on a regular basis, or you may be embarking on this challenge to increase your physical fitness.
 
Over the course of two days, you will trek a total distance of 42 kilometres (around 26 miles) with an overall ascent of 9,800ft. It will be challenging, you will be pushed physically, but the sense of achievement, breathtaking views and feeling of accomplishment as you reach each summit with us and the team around you will be worth it.

You'll travel from Norwich to Scotland on Friday, with dinner and accommodation overnight, before beginning the Ben Nevis climb early on Saturday Morning. We'll then head off overnight to the Lake District to be ready to scale Scafell Pike in the early hours of Sunday morning, hoping to be on the descent to watch the sunrise; before finishing our adventure by conquering Snowdon. To finish the weekend and celebrate we'll then have well deserved refreshments and that all important sleep, certificate presentations and photos on Monday morning before our travel back to Norwich.
 
When?
Friday 23 - Monday 26 June
Climb takes place over Saturday 24 - Sunday 25.
 
Where will we be going?
Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
Transport will be provided from Norwich, to all three locations, with return transport back to Norwich included.
 
What you're required to do:
Minimum sponsorship target - £300.00
 
Secure your place!
  • £125.00 per person (total cost)
  • £50.00 deposit*
  • £75.00 to be paid by 13 February 2017.
*Deposit is to be paid upon booking. Cost includes travel for the duration. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast on Friday 23. Bed and Breakfast on Sunday 25. Event T-Shirt and Particpation Certificate will be included.

Please note there is a minimum age requirement of 18 years.
 
Training and Briefing
The challenge is strenuous which means you will need to be prepared both physically and mentally.
At the event briefing you will be supplied with a schedule of training walk dates, given vital information on nutrition for both training and taking on the climbs, as well as what kit is needed and where you can purchase or hire these from.
 
The training will take you beyond basic fitness and prepare you for avoiding injury during the challenge. It will include opportunities for you to test your progress, meet with your team mates, and test your equipment and nutrition.
 
Fundraising
As you will see there is a sponsorship target of £300.00 for this challenge. We will be here to offer support and guidance with our top tips for fundraising to help you achieve your goal.
