Big C takes to the Catwalk

Big C takes to the Catwalk

If you think charity shops only stock 1980s wedding dresses, be prepared to have your head and mind turned by the models at the first ever Dipple and Conway Hair Show when they strut the catwalk at OPEN during Norwich Fashion Week (March 11).

The bridal collection will be wearing pre-loved, and some new ,gowns from Norfolk’s Big C specialist bridal boutique within the shop on Timberhill, stocking lace, beaded, all shades of white, cream and ivory, layers of organza and international designer names such as Maggie Sottero. At any one time there are at least 80 dresses that will transform any size or shape into a dream bride-to-be, whether it is a beach wedding or a more formal occasion. The surprise is that many gowns are from this year’s collections and prices range from £95-£900, with an average price of £250, depending on condition.

The diminutive Rose Samaroo, her gently spoken volunteer, has been at her side for many years, always wanting to run a bridal boutique but told by her parents that she had to have a proper career, so became a teacher. She understands what today’s bride wants,  without the four figure price tag. “The Princess style with a full skirt, helped by films like Frozen is really popular among the young and lace is always fashionable,” she says holding up a chic straight gown with train.

The Big C bridal shop always needs new stock, so let the memory of your big day live on and help cancer patients and their families by donating today. The shop is open daily, except Sundays, no appointment needed.
